This past year has come with many changes. And many of these changes were seen in terms of how kids are learning. Distance and Virtual Learning wasn’t even a term most of us parents were familiar with one year ago and now we know the ins and outs of a Google Classroom, logging on to Zoom Rooms and making sure your child is on mute before we ask them to sit up in their chair!
We at Pacific Animal Productions have also joined in the distance and virtual learning world and — WE LOVE IT! It will not replace being able to see, smell and meet an animal eye to eye but it has had some very big pluses! We have started teaching on an online platform called Outschool that connects learners to topic based classes. Through this, we have been able to reach kids from all across the country and even the world!
Another positive plus for us is it has allowed us to flex our creative muscles, in more ways than one. People consume online content generally more often than in person experiences, so we were challenged with coming up with new ways to teach about our animal friends. With that we have created a Draw & Learn series. Learn about an animal all while drawing a simple picture of it, while viewing the real life animal as a reference. Kids can use the creative side of their brain while also exercising the other by learning how the eyes of a chameleon move, or why they change colors as they color their bright Chameleon too.
If this past year has taught us another thing is that we never know what the future may look like (we sure didn’t imagine this) but we so hope we can continue meeting and teaching new friends virtually!
See all of our Virtual Animal Programs and also find our Draw and Learn All About Sloths, All About Birds of Prey and All About Owls as well as our newest WILD about Disney on Outschool.
